Secondly: Activities and Programs of the Giftedness and Creativity Department
This is an educational training program for children of 6-13 years aimed at developing thinking, concentration, and accuracy skills to self-confidence, problem solving skills and overcoming difficulties. It is a new method that employs modern technology to develop children’s mental abilities using math and numbers. The idea comes from the East: old Chinese arithmetic and Japanese modern-science modifications coming from research on brain. It emerged in Japan and Chinese Taipei by Professor Lee Kuan Long in the name of Smart Brain for metal calculation. It is a metal method of calculation that develops a child’s brain to be smart.
The program focuses on learning arithmetic processes rapidly (subtraction, adding, division, multiplication, etc). Students are expected to learn to perform such processes 4-5 time faster than the calculator and the computer, without using any.
This program aims at focusing on the practical Math for primary grades; starting from the first to the fifth. Part of the theoretical section is transformed into practice to establish the so-called Fun Math Club/ Math Lab as students are introduced to practical lessons in Math in a different way. This section includes a significant part of attraction and suspense according to a scientific methodology and educational aids and tools totally conforming with the educational curricula of Fun Math.
The art of making pottery still attracts various nations as it expresses certain civilizations; an art taken from natural elements: water, mud, air, and fire.
This craft is filled with giftedness, creativity, and innovation as its practical potentials match research, experimentation, and development on the ground.
It was to add a program for pottery and glass making to aid in developing the artistic abilities, creative thinking, and aesthetic innovation of gifted and creative students. It as well helps developing manual, visual, and mental skills and link them to the culture of creativity.
